Almanac Prediction Market Hits $1 Million Volume Milestone, Activates Buybacks

Almanac, popularly named the world’s first incentivized prediction market terminal, announced today that it has surpassed $1,000,000 in total trading volume.

The platform, which rewards users for contributing valuable information through prediction markets, highlighted this achievement as a key indicator of growing adoption.

The Almanac team tweeted: “Milestone reached: $1,000,000+ in volume. While our focus is incentivizing informational value, aggregate volume has been a near to mid-term north star for adoption. More volume = more informational value that rises to the top = more rewards.”

Almanac operates in the DeFi space, aligning with trends in incentivized data and market forecasting. This milestone comes amid increasing interest in prediction markets, which allow users to bet on real-world outcomes to aggregate crowd wisdom.

Buybacks Activated: Volume Now Feeds the Protocol

With $1 million in cumulative trading volume crossed, Almanac has switched on protocol-level buybacks. Trading fees collected on the platform are now being used to purchase SN41 alpha directly from the open market. These purchases are not coming from a treasury allocation or team wallet; they are funded strictly by revenue generated through user activity.

An accumulation wallet (check it here) has already been designated to execute and hold these purchases, providing full on-chain transparency into the mechanism.

For traders, this redefines the meaning of the 1% trading fee. Instead of fees accumulating passively under team control, they are recycled back into the ecosystem through systematic alpha acquisition. More trading volume translates directly into more protocol-driven market purchases.

For the token itself, this marks the beginning of a revenue-backed demand engine. Protocol income is now actively deployed to acquire alpha. Once automated burning goes live, purchased alpha will be permanently removed from circulation, tightening supply.

The mechanism is volume-scaled. The first $1 million sets off the engine; each additional million increases the clip.
